Music at the Spirit dance varies from Friday to Friday but we have a few genres that form the mainstay of our offerings. Most of the music is prerecorded with an occasional DJ or live music. Sound is provided by a huge professional JBL Dance System driven by 2 racks of QSC amps. A 30 foot Octagon Lighting Truss is suspended above the Dance floor.

LOKI

www.abstractearthproject.com/images/Loki_Vic.jpg
Loki says of himself...
After spending several magical years in the industrial rave scene (warehouse
spaceships) in Pittsburgh, PA during the middle to late 90's and after promoting
about 20 raves during that same incredible mystical time period, I began my
expedition as a dj. Actually, it wasn't that glorious, it happened by accident.
A friend of mine left on vacation for a few weeks and asked if I would do him a
favor and babysit his gear. I promptly agreed and his turntables and mixer sat
in my basement for 2 days before I even touched them. I then decided I was going
to "play" with them, so I went to a "new" little record store in Pittsburgh
called Milk and bought my first tracks on vinyl. I went looking for some deep
house and walked out with an arm full of Danny Tenaglia style tribal. After
about 48 hours of nonstop trainwrecking I decided it was time to eat and get
some sleep. I was straight up hooked on the vinyl crack.
Now seven years later, I am back to my east coast roots spinning melodic,
chunky, dirty, minimal techno. I would not dare deny my west coast family a
style that suits their tastes as well, so look out for new dubstep mixes with
special mc work by Pete Clark. I want to thank anyone who ever danced while I
played, you will never know how precious those moments are to me and I look
forward to enjoying many more moments where we all meet on higher plane and the
world slips away.
